Entry Requirements Of OTHM Level 4 Diploma in Law

These qualifications are designed for learners typically aged 18 and above.

Entry Profile

Learners are likely to meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • Relevant Level 3 Diploma
  • GCE Advanced Level in 2 subjects or equivalent qualification
  • Mature learners (over 21) with relevant management experience (to be verified by the delivery centre before registration).

The OTHM Level 4 Diploma in Law at RQF Level 4 represents practical knowledge, skills, and competences equivalent to:

  • Higher National Certificates (HNC)
  • Year 1 of a three-year UK Bachelor’s degree programme.

Assessment Process

  • The qualifications are criterion referenced, meaning learners must achieve all specified learning outcomes and assessment criteria.
  • To achieve a ‘pass’, learners must provide evidence that they have met the required standards.

The Assessor will make a judgement on learners’ achievements and provide an audit trail to demonstrate how the judgement was reached.

Progression

Successful completion of the OTHM Level 4 Diploma in Law provides learners with opportunities for further academic progression, including:

  • The OTHM Level 5 Diploma in Law.

As the qualification is approved and regulated by Ofqual (Office of the Qualifications and Examinations Regulation), learners may also be eligible for direct entry into Year 2 of a three-year UK Bachelor’s degree programme.
