The L3DB is an Ofqual-regulated Applied General qualification from NCC Education. It builds transferable study skills, mathematical competency, and applied cultural understanding — with a strong focus on international business — alongside a solid grounding in core business and economics concepts. It’s designed for both 16–19 year-old students and adult learners.
Course Structure — 3 Core Units (52 credits, all mandatory)
- Advanced Basics in Business (12 credits)
- Developing Financial Forecasting and Accounting in Business (20 credits)
- Developing Organisation Structure (20 credits)
Elective Units (choose at least 1 additional unit, for a total of 67–72 credits)
- Developing Entrepreneurship (20 credits)
- Marketing Practices (15 credits)
- Communication in Business (15 credits)
- Developing an eBusiness (20 credits)
Entry Requirements
- Completed GCSE/IGCSE ‘O’ Levels (or equivalent), with passes in at least 4 subjects at grade ‘C’/’4’ or above, including Mathematics and English
- IELTS 5.5+ (or equivalent) for students whose first language isn’t English — alternatively, the free NCC Education Higher English Placement Test through an accredited partner centre
Progression Opportunities
Graduates can move directly into NCC Education’s Level 4 Diploma in Business (L4DB), or explore university progression routes worldwide. The qualification also opens doors to higher education programmes in Business Management, Marketing, International Business, and Accounting and Finance, as well as entry-level roles such as Accounts Clerk, Recruitment Consultant, or Accounting Technician.
Assessment
Units are assessed through a mix of examinations and assignments, offered across multiple assessment cycles throughout the year.
